The Real Story Behind Oprah and Resveratrol Supplements
Anybody who reads newspapers or watches the news even occasionally would have heard of the newest wonder drug in the market - Resveratrol. No doubt, Oprah Winfrey's recommendation and vocal support of the anti-aging and associated health benefits of Resveratrol, have been thoroughly covered in the press and online. To put it plainly, Resveratrol is an antioxidant, naturally found in the skin of red grapes and other berries like blueberries and even in peanuts. Resveratrol is a phytoalexin which is produced by plants when they are attacked by pathogens or bacteria. Resveratrol antioxidants can be easily ingested by drinking a glass of wine; the fermentation of the grapes further concentrates Resveratrol, thereby making red wine-Resveratrol a richer source of these unique antioxidants as opposed to non-fermented, right-off-the-vine grapes.
