The wonders of alcohol.

The achilles heel for many people. The 'norm' for some others. And poison if you have CFS/PVFS/M.E….

I remember when I first got Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome/CFS back in 1995, I thought that having a drink or two wouldn't affect me any differently to my PRE-CFS days.

Unfortunately I didn't realise what I was doing to myself.I didn't know how badly alcohol can affect the severity of CFS…

alcoholism is a problem which afflicts over 14 million Americans, almost 8% of the population of the United States. The majority of alcohol rehabilitation programs in use today have a low success rate, as a result many people have turned to medications in order to limit or stop their drinking problem. Two types of medications are currently used in the treatment of alcoholics, Aversive Medications and Anticraving Medications.

alcohol abuse greatly increases the odds for a host of cancers, and far too many alcoholics and heavy drinkers wait until already feeing the painful symptoms of cancer or disease before ever quitting. Yet for those that do manage to quit, the risks to cancer gradually decline, and eventually equal those of people who never drank to excess.

We all know of the risks of heavy drinking, and it seems as though with every passing week researchers are finding yet more evidence of the damage done by heavy drinking.

It could be a bit difficult choosing an appropriate drug rehabilitation programme. No one in the whole world wants their life to be overtaken by any addiction. Going for a rehabilitation programme is a good and a forward step for the beginning of a new healthy life.

First of all the necessary step is to understand the process and the criteria which on needs to follow in order to get rid of his drug addiction. Understanding all the things from which a person needs to get through is necessary as he will be prepare if he knows that what will happen to him in his treatment.

You may have heard that alcohol damages the brain. It is true? Not only is it true, it doesn't even take much alcohol to start the process. One night of drinking impairs critical thinking for a month; you can well imagine what frequent drinking can do. If you're expecting the young adults in your family to be able to make correct decisions, you could be out of luck. To make real change, you may need to take the lead and get them into an addiction treatment center.

The most important thing in rehabilitation is the approach to stick with the program adopted. One should not be hangout over the issue like treatment methods, time duration of treatment and success rate of treatment at a critical time of addiction. It must be big enough to step for an individual to admit that they need treatment. Now we will see the different type of rehab method one by one.
Inpatient Rehab

Here in California, the County and State funded drug treatment programs have been cutting back and/or laying off staff for a while now. Long-term programs have become 10-day "spin-drys" in the blink of an eye. It was only a matter of time before economic conditions began to force private detox facilities and inpatient rehabs into cutting back as well.

Drug rehab refers to a term which is associated with the treatment of those persons who are addicted to either drugs or alcohol or both. In these fast times, people get anxious and tensed due to small things or changes in their lives. So to fight or rather we should say to ignore these tensions, people take the help of drugs so that they would forget their tensions and responsibilities.

When we think of eating disorders in America and the rising Obesity epidemic, we often fail to realize that while over eating is a major concern, so is not eating enough. People make extremely poor choices all of the time when it comes to food. Some would blame part of this on Hollywood, while others would still blame it on the fact that some people (especially women) are so obsessed with "looking good" that there is often no other alternative except to cut back on what they eat.
